Brandon and Katie met in 2001 when they both attended the Adventures In Missions (AIM) program in Lubbock, Texas immediately following high school. After the initial eight months of study, Brandon moved to Mariupol, Ukraine to work for two years with an existing congregation, and Katie worked in Mexico City, Mexico for fourteen months. Their time on the foreign mission field inspired them both to want to be a part of foreign missions long term. They decided to pursue their passion for missions by furthering their biblical education in Lubbock at Sunset International Bible Institute, while simultaneously working with the missions program (AIM) that had blessed their lives in so many ways. After their first year of studies, Brandon and Katie were married in May 2005. They spent the next two years completing their Bible degrees and working as mentors in the Adventures In Missions program.

During their final year at Sunset, Brandon and Katie were invited by the Woodland West Church of Christ in Arlington, Texas to return to Mariupol, Ukraine after their graduation and work for one year to develop leaders among the youth and train them in discipleship. The Prices were very honored by the invitation and returned to work with the Left Bank Church of Christ in June 2007 within just three weeks after their graduation from Sunset.

They returned to Lubbock at the end of that time in Ukraine and continued their ministry with the Adventures In Missions program. During that time they also accepted an invitation to run an after-school program for under-privileged kids at the Central Church of Christ in Lubbock, which ran for three hours every afternoon, five days a week. Brandon and Katie thoroughly enjoyed working in these capacities.

After spending time with their sponsoring church in late 2010, the Prices joined the rest of the team in Kharkov in early 2011.
